Wellington machine shop recommendations

Recommended Posts

Hey Team,

Next week I will be tackling the head gasket on my m20b25! I have everything (I hope) except for a place where I will take the head to be resurfaced and perhaps hot washed/steamed? etc. If anybody has had any good experiences anywhere in Wellington let me know!
Also if there is anything else you think I should know (tips 'n' tricks) holla.
Wish me luck

Thanks,
Toby

Aparently Kerry Lindsay in Petone is the place to go, though the one time i have needed him to do a Mercedes head they werent interested. Take from that what you will

I too would be interested to hear recommendations, if not for my M30B35 then for any future jobs!

Considered setting up the mill at Massey to do my head but thought it would be a bit too much of an expensive mistake if I goofed it! Might see if I can find a scrap engine to practice on, always worth knowing how to do it. A few machine shops are still nice enough to let you come in and use their equipment if your bring your own tools & clean the workshop afterwards. Knowing the right people also helps!
