atlantiskiwi 73 Report post Posted January 4, 2015 Cleaning the m3 plugs this arvo and was curious how you would read mine? Lean, rich? Ok? They all were much the same abd cleaned up really well. But I noticed the gap was sitting at .6 when it should be .8. How much of a major is this? I tried re-gaping but the nodes were to soft.

Kepes 231 Report post Posted January 4, 2015 They look pretty normal to me. If anything - looks a tiny bit darker than normal. Could possibly be running a bit rich, but i'm no expert. Just curious, how did you clean them??
hybrid 1043 Report post Posted January 4, 2015 They look perfect. No erosion on anode or cathodes and are a nice matte gray. When the soot up is usually oil accumulation in the intake from hot oil / vapor or loose plugs.
atlantiskiwi 73 Report post Posted January 6, 2015 All good! For 200k I thought they looked pretty good too. Very soft wire brush (brass) and small amount of brake clean! - See pic of it after clean up. I also cleaned out the intake box, air filter and MAF sensor at the same time. Those things combined took a few hours and did make a slight difference! Either way, very satisfying and good maintenance.
