Tips on squeaky brakes

Recommended Posts

On my e87 the rear passenger side brake has a horrid squeal whenever I slowly brake (like in traffic or at lights), the worst in the mornings.

Does this noise usually go away over time or do the brakes usually need attention to resolve this? i.e. new pads etc.

Thanks for your reply mate.

I only got the car 2 weeks ago and it's been doing since pick-up.

If the sound doesn't improve in a month or so I guess I'll take it into get checked?

You can get sharp edges on brake pads - gently run a file over them to remove any burrs/excess.

Cheap shitty pads can be noisy

Squeaky brakes on your car is not normal if quality parts are used. When the car goes through compliance they will often change the brakes with crap quality components and they also never ever change the progressive wear sensors. Give me a call in the morning... (09) 2722546 Glenn
