Budget build E36 Compact racecar

Recommended Posts

Another Compact destined for the track. :D

This one is a strictly unofficial, grass roots, low budget, collaborative project and will be featured on the Race Cars In Sheds (RCIS) Facebook page. It's planned to run in the BMW Open 2 litre class.

Currently a road car (albeit one with some issues) details will be shared on Facebook and I'm happy to update here too, if that appeals.

The car:

Nothing much to get excited about, but the aim is to keep it cheap, and have fun. :)

It's sitting quite a bit higher, now!

Much removal of underseal also underway. It'll be bagged and weighed. Just for fun. :)

A hack saw to strip it out, mind boggles.

On the weight thing - from memory i took over 20kg of sound deadening out of the boot alone in the E30

There was a problem with one of the seatbelt securing bolts. It'll never bother anyone again. :D
