akawings 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2015 Hu guys I've changed battery for my bmw e60 530i and active steering fault light turned on it was alright before I took my old battery out. Anyone know how to reset active steering???Do I need scanner to reset? and some people say new battery needs to be registered from bmw. Is it composery to register new battery??? Please help me!!! E30 325i Rag-Top 2957 Report post Posted May 5, 2015 Logging the new battery number is a feature on newer BMWs, won't be necessary on your E60. Was your steering pointing straight ahead when you changed the battery over, it might be a bit confused if the wheels were at an angle when the position sensors were reset. BMTHUG 1057 Report post Posted May 5, 2015 go to a vacant parking lot, centralise your steering wheel. then drive ahead,turn your steering wheel full to the left and drive and then full lock to the right and drive and repeat a couple of times, then drive straight ahead for a 100 m and the light should go off 1 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
