Hi Dear Fans of BMW and BIMMERSPORT FORUM NZ and I am new proud owner

Recommended Posts

Good Day Dear Administrators and Moderators, Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I would like kindly to say "Hello" to every one respectful person in this great society and respectful Forum and to introduce myself.

I am new one in this Forum. I am happy to announce that I just bought my second in a row BMW from "X" series BMW X3 F25 2.0 D 2015 with "M-pack" LED headlamps and fog lights. There is a small issue for me. I am a foreigner from Bulgaria Europe and I will move soon to live and work in New Zealand Auckland. My primer concern is that my BMW it's a European version LHD and this will conflict with the New Zealand's roads and regulations. My question is are there some restrictions for driving in New Zealand for European LHD vehicles and what I must to change/innovate in my SUV to be capable to drive on New Zealand roads. Can I still drive it as it is without remodeling/upgrading please? I will appreciate any related and reliable information. Thank You for the time taken to read my post and Your further understanding and cooperation in this delicate matter. Herewith You can have a look on those pictures of my Carbon Black Metallic BMW. Once again thank You for Your kind attention and understanding as well any advice it's a very welcome! I would like to be excused for any misspelled word/phrase and for my gibberish English! Appreciate Your kindness and attention!
Sincerely Yours,
Julian Willow.

Nice car, and welcome

you can get a special import permit that is valid for one year, your car is imported and you keep your bulgarian plates.

However the permit is difficult to get, and usually only offered to those working directly for the government or diplomatic reasons.

I live in Wellington, plenty of government buildings here, you see cars on NZ roads under this scheme from time to time.

If you are moving here permanently, you will need to sell your car in Bulgaria, and buy a car in New Zealand, or buy one from the United Kingdom and import car here.

Hope this helps, and translates well back to Bulgarian.

Thank You Sir. Well noted and clearly understood. I appreciate this information. Well at this point it's better to buy brand new SUV from New Zealand strait as my intentions and good will are to stay and live permanently in this gorgeous country. I would love to have the same or better SUV in Auckland and to bring some dividends to New Zealand Car industry and merchandise Car Dealers. I think this is better solution and decision at this stage. Thank You once again Dear Sir and I hope to see You there on live. Have a nice day and successful week and very pleasant weekend. :)

Very nice car, always liked the new x5's and the x3's. the x3 especially improved over the older models.

as andy said, best to sell and buy again locally. just much easier with a right hand drive car in a left side of the road driving in nz.

welcome and hope all goes well here in nz for you!

Thank You Sir M3AN. Well my Bulgarian writing name is Yulian which is 100% equal to Julian. Julian is more not confusing and easy for pronunciation for You guys. I know that from my personal experience as I worked for the last 25 years always abroad with multinational people and cultures.
