musccoo 82 Report post Posted September 20, 2015 (edited) So I'm doing my timing belt, water pump etc and want to do the cam seal while I'm there. Ive got the pulley off only problem is I can't get the cam seal housing off. What's the best way to get it off without hacking the head with a screwdriver behind it..? It seems really stuck Thanks Edited September 22, 2015 by potatomash
Young Thrash Driver 1020 Report post Posted September 20, 2015 Bentley manual says to use a 5kg hammer and a cold chisel Haha kidding, the sources I just checked say to use a flat head screwdriver
musccoo 82 Report post Posted September 21, 2015 But how do I get it in behind without scratching the head? Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
hotwire 352 Report post Posted September 21, 2015 Be careful or better - use a gasket scraper to get behind it. I should come away relatively easily.
musccoo 82 Report post Posted September 21, 2015 Thanks guys I managed by tapping it with a punch to one side to loosen it and get it spinning then was able to use some flat heads. I changed seal then put it back on with some gasket sealer *just in case* Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
