m325i 709 Report post Posted October 26, 2015 (edited) Hello, I am looking to get out of the potentially troublesome (touch wood) 120i and considering an e90 325i, but am a little unclear on the engines and their relative issues. From wikipedia I see it notes 2005-2008 as N52 but 2007-2011 as N53. I assume the cross over is in different markets? Is the N52 a decent motor without big flaws? Is the N53 worth the extra $ ? (ignoring it is a newer car and LCI) Be interested in your expert opinions Thanks, Nick Edited October 26, 2015 by Nick G
qube 3570 Report post Posted October 26, 2015 I think given the sharp prices for a e90 325i or 323i msport (hopefully around $10-15k) its a good car to buy these days. My experience with the n52 2.5L was pretty good. No strange issues. Drove well and enough power for a normal daily car. I wouldnt be phased about whether its an n52 or n53 and pick the better spec/msport/nz new/service history example.
