Jamez 2147483647 Report post Posted November 12, 2015 I am after a aftermarket front sway bar that is set to mount off the control arms for my 316ti E36. I have a E36ti Motorsport one, but that hits the sump I have a E36ti Standard one, but that hits the sump I have a E36 M3 one, but that doesn't mount to the control arms, it does however clear the sump. From what I can tell, the aftermarket ones have a bigger loop in the middle so they are universal fit for all E36's.

Jamez 2147483647 Report post Posted November 12, 2015 Does it have a bigger loop in the middle compared with the compact sway bars? If so Ill go grab one from pickapart
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted November 12, 2015 It must have because I swapped the whole front end out of the donor car with the Bilstein shocks and springs

BMRBOI 8 Report post Posted November 12, 2015 Do you have the endlinks from the 318ti ones? Wouldn't they fit onto the m3 sway bar? IIRC I used a 325i 25.5mm sway bar with m3 link to strut and that works fine so you should be able to go the other way around.
Jamez 2147483647 Report post Posted November 15, 2015 Went to pickapart and got an e36 motorsport one for $16 Below is a picture of: 1. 318ti Standard sway bar - 25 mm 2. 318ti Motorsport sway bar - 26 mm 3. E36 Motorsport sway bar - 25.5 mm 4. M3 Motorsport sway bar - 23 mm I now see the E36 and M3 ones have a bigger hoop in order to make room for the 6 cylinder.
