e61kid 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2015 Hi, Does anyone know what is wrong with my key remote? My car is a 2009 525i touring model, and both the remote keys don't work. I tried replacing the battery, which didn't help. I then looked at the fuses and noticed fuse 59 was blown. After putting a new fuse in, it blew straight away. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Darrell

e61kid 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2015 So, I take it the diversity antenna needs replacing? Would that be the reason why the fuse keeps blowing or is it a wiring issue?
Young Thrash Driver 1020 Report post Posted December 17, 2015 I really wouldn't like to speculate because I'm used to much older cars, so I'd advise you to get the vehicle scanned at somewhere like Botany Motor Works or BM Workshop. But Dr Google does seem to be pointing at the diversity antenna. Have a look at the wiring harness where it goes between the body and the boot too, I've heard of that being a problem area. Gaz 1059 Report post Posted December 17, 2015 They tend to get water leaks in the roof spoiler along with the e91's. Water + electrical components = fail. Take it apart and check with water ingress/damage.
