BatMansWilly 74 Report post Posted October 2, 2016 Hey guys, I'm in the middle of putting a zf 5speed box in to my e36(had a gettag 220g in it). How ever I'm running into a problem with the shifter linkage. I was told by the Interwebs that I could bend the 220g selector rod keep my 220g shift leaver but I had to buy a zf shifting arm. So that's what I did how ever I can only find 1,3,5 and reverse. When I try to get it in to 2nd or 4th it feels like it bottoms out and it will not go into those gears. So my question is do I need a new zf shifter lever and selector rod or just a selector rod? Any input or information would be great!
zero 1162 Report post Posted October 3, 2016 Does anyone know if the selector rods are a different length between the two boxes?

BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted October 4, 2016 either buy the zf shifter rods or cut and weld them to suit I think most levers will work , but some wont work due to the angles etc , best to just buy one that suits a ZF box
