330itis 15 Report post Posted February 4, 2006 I was just wandering wat you guys think is a good looking wheel size is for an E36
Dnz 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2006 (edited) 17s are best. Reason - They give optimum handling, while providing enough rubber for rougher roads. Anything larger will cause more noise and vibration, and also increase tyre costs further. 18,s would still be fine, Anything that is larger is purchased purely for the 'look at meeeee' factor, which means that size directly correlates with lameness. This is often found coupled with cut springs (or no springs) to finish the abomination of handling and style. Edited February 4, 2006 by Dnz

nz320i 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2006 Please dont put 19's on a car with no body kit, or it will look like a roller skate. i think big wheels like that look cool with a body kit as it isnt outa proportion..but thats my opinion. Dam those must be expensive for geuinue ones
330itis 15 Report post Posted February 7, 2006 hehehe yeah your right about the proportion thing. Mine has m3 body kit so it wont be that bad. and hell yes they are expensive! I might get some copies and just rip the bolts off that make it look 2 piece

Dnz 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2006 I dont see how you can live in west auckland, and not care about handling. Seriously 18 is as much as you want. Rim size is not a pissing contest. Its about overall appearance. 90% of crappy crappy cars have 19's. The nice ones tend to go with a less 'look at me' wheel, which delivers superior handling/comfort. E30SIX 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 i reckon driving a bmw already says "look at me". bimmer with 19' says "blinging" 17's says cant afford 19's so hating on it basically i got a ti so opting for 18's but mite have to get 19's cause they dont do the mags i wont in 18's (offset) I did'nt think a "ti" could even fit 19's without spending a consideralbe amount of money. Would hate to think what the handling would be like aswell.
Vjarn 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2006 mag and turbo says they put 20's on them all the time but it keeps knocking the struts. ideally i want 18's but they dont do'em in my offset.
Jazzbass 1 Report post Posted March 8, 2006 Its all personal opinion, of course, we all have them and mine is: 15s look too small 16s look stock 17s look about right, the best compromise imo 18s can look ok, depending on the style of the wheel, but too often look wrong 19s are starting to get ricey and normally spoil the car's aethetics 20s look ridiculous and I'd hope no-one here would do that to their BMW You, of course can have whatever pleases you, but it is a poll, so opinions are expected and given.
