New member Auckland- looking to purchase a M135i

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I have decided to buy a f20 m135i

but I have some questions if anyone can help me select the right car. Both jap imports as I can't afford a NZ new :)

2012 in black 69km. With reversing camera and nz gps etc. interior not in greatest condition, aircon makes a ticking sound when turning on or off. Steering wheel looks slightly worn. Looks very clean under the bonnet though. And it feels more powerful than the white one. Exhaust also sounds louder and auto start stop doesn't seem to work so unsure of it was disabled on the ecu or if it's faulty. Lastly only 1 key :(

2013 in white 72km. No camera with gps. Car looks tidier inside and outside. No random noises. But there are a lot of black greasy looking patches under bonnet where the panels join up. I looked at the bolts on the front guards and doesn't seem like the car was re-sprayed. Comparing the two cars the older 2012 had those factory glue seals on some areas that the whites one doesn't have. It has both keys and better looking BMW wheel.

Will be very thankful if you specialists out there on the forum can give me some advice please. I cannot decide between the two. And advise me the best place for an inspection for such ride

Oh oh and the white one costs 3k more

thank you all in advanced for helping me getting into my first Bimmer!!!!!

The white one sounds like the better one but if it was upto me, I would skip both.  I would rather save up for a NZ new one with full service history.

Best to get a PPI done from Botany Motor Worx or BM Workshop.

Those are bottom of the market examples.

I drove two recently with sticker prices of $36k & $38k - neither were *mint*. They could be overpriced sure, but $30k seems a little too good to be true if you don't want to compromise on a major factor.

They are pretty loose little cars though, no doubt.

Consider a late model DCT 135i coupe?

This.  Or even an E46 M3 with stick.
