allan 295 Report post Posted September 27, 2017 Anybody know what is the difference in the door handle mechanism of a e46 sedan and coupe. They use the same exterior door handle plus the cables can be swapped over if need be with out to much problem.
AzonicNick 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2017 Something to do with the extra requirment of the coupe and the window drop feature? I understand this is some sort of switch inside the handle so the door handle tells the car the door is opening to drop the window 5mm or so so clear the sill
Michael. 2313 Report post Posted September 28, 2017 Funny, this has been playing on my mind today haha. There was a change in e46 handles 00/09 on. I think the early type pulled up from one end only, but then the change over saw the entire handle pull up? Or was it the other way around. Quite different mechanisms. Yours pictured looks like the early type.
