suspension

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone

I am the new guy to the forum (just sing in today :) )

I have a problem with my rear suspension.

Since like few months ago my car has not been stable on the corners its going all over the place, and the other thing is that when i get two passengers at the back and drive over a little bumps the weels are scraping on to the guards (it wasnt happening before) When i bought my car it was already lowered and the Koni shocks were fitted. Can anyone tell me whats happening cos i get different opinions some say its the shocks and some say its the springs.

THANX

Welcome aboard.

Check the rear shock mounts at the top.

It is common for them to fail, this cause the shock to be ineffective leading to bouncing (like there are no shocks).

It would be very odd for both to fail at once though, check the springs also to make sure they aren't broken or cracked if they are cheap/nasty ones.

There's an advert on TV for some place (forgotten who) that checks your shocks for free. Might be worth a visit? Anyone watch adverts? Where is it?

If the koni's are adjustable sports (yellow) then the dampning can be adjusted to be firmer, assuming they're sports and not already set to firm, have a read on the koni website.
