toby7 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2018 Hi, I've got the factory recommended tyre size of 225/50/16 on my E36 328i Looking at the tyre on the 16x7 rim they look to me like they are near the upper limit widthwise. I'm thinking that a 205/55/16 would look & fit better. Have more square shoulders and not bulge out at the side. Also keep original tyre diameter and gearing correct. Possibly be a bit quieter too. What's your thoughts ? Cheers Peter

qube 3570 Report post Posted January 19, 2018 +1 on 17" for a e36 328i. 17x7.5 or 17x8 is good with the right offset you can go square 235 40 17 or you can go staggered 225 45 17 front 245 40 17 rear The reason your current tyres look bulged is because the sidewall profile is 50 and its a 225 width on a 7" rim. step up to a 17" wheel to get a lower profile 40 or 45 and then the 225/235/245 width will be fine because you will also get a wider wheel 7.5/8/8.5"
