Breaker 980 Report post Posted December 26, 2020 Sourced a second hand internal air duct cowling from a 728, still getting a bit brittle but nothing like mine that was disintegrating. Always a bugger pulling the wipers but that should stop some engine bay fumes entering the cabin. Before and After. 1st summer job down, few on the list to do
Breaker 980 Report post Posted December 27, 2020 And replaced the driver rear window that was delaminating, much better. The rear 3 quarter blinds where both extended and won’t retract, so took them off, wound them back up and put them back on, they are pretty much impossible to repair so just keeps them out of the way. Breaker 980 Report post Posted July 31, 2021 So after being away for a transmission rebuild and to address the driveline shudder at the same time, today she is back ! It’s been forever for various reasons but now she’s back. Albeit my wallet is significantly lighter. Fantastic difference having the trans and drive line back up to spec, that’s mounts, driveline, trans and all suspension and bushings replaced now. Finally next job is paint tidy up. Headliner and rear shelf, I have a few parts to get in on the next free weekend as well. Probably need wheels refurbished as well …..
Breaker 980 Report post Posted October 22, 2021 Well the next issue popped up, alternator packed a sad on a weekend drive few weeks back. Luckily only close to our off-ramp and I could get it home and then down to our mechanic. New alternator, being water cooled PITA so left it up to the mechanic for this one also. Under $2k all up, pretty happy and we got a good deal on a genuine pump for $1200 in that. Well that’s all the big ticket items now, hopefully ……… At least it’s back and running sweet now

Breaker 980 Report post Posted January 6, 2022 New Years polish, at least the paint job looks consistent from 3M’s 😉 Finished with a sealer and a couple of long drives
Breaker 980 Report post Posted March 8, 2022 Off for a WOF, no issues, that’s always good. Had ongoing battery problems, the whole twin battery idea makes it challenging, got a new top battery last year and it’s not survived well. Shop took it up with the supplier without asking, couldn’t get a replacement as no longer made by them, so they got me a replacement Bosch. Can’t complain at that service and effort for me. 😁
