BMW N54 335i Tune + Nav Conversion

Hi everyone,

I am new on here and there are probably threads already addressing what I need to know. However, if you could help me out with the below, that would be great.

1. I am thinking of ordering in the JB4 for my 335i - any Wellington installers or have you installed it yourselves with no issues?

2. I will need a charge pipe to handle the additional boost - any local garages that import them or install?

3. I need the Japanese Nav changed over to English as well as NZ radio etc, who does this in Wellington?

1. Get MHD instead, assuming you haven't got a specific reason for preferring JB4. A proper ECU tune is generally better than a piggyback hack.

2. Yes, any BMW specialist can install it. Not a terrible difficult DIY either. Order online from Burger Motorsports, I hear some cheap Ebay ones can be good too.

2nd MHD, had it on my 335i and it was great. Cant see any reason why anyone would go JB4 over it, unless they needed a specific feature like the fuel gauge boost gauge thing, but thats a gimmick.

I have a spare alu charge pipe here, with knockoff Tial BOV and caps for the inlet pipes. Doesnt have clip or O-ring (carry over from your stock one). PM me if interested.

Sounds like the MHD is the way to go then, I'll look into how to get my hands on it. I had just seen the JB4 on Youtube and it looked pretty cool with respect to the different maps you can change. Does the MHD come with an app or device to download other maps once you add on other bult ons?

MHD IS an app, downloaded on Android. You then buy and change maps via that App. It is locked to your car AND android play account though, so make sure if you want to sell it with the car in future or something, or link it to an unused account or one you make for the car specifically. Have a look at the MHD website, lots of info on it there.

I need to get a ALU charge pipe at some stage and have been looking into how it do it. Do you have to use a BOV?

Seems like everyone does but i would rather not use one if you don't have to. Will the factory waste gates work with ALU pipe?
