NZPED 2 Report post Posted February 2, 2020 Any indication on fuel economy?. Thanks
nick496 269 Report post Posted February 2, 2020 Couldn't really say, as only filled her up a few times, and the vast majority of trips were around town. I'd guess 12l/100kms around town, but you should average out around 10l/100kms. This will give you a better indication http://www.fuelly.com/car/bmw/318ti

(Managing expectations - that sort of thing.) Miss M has a slightly newer, M43-powered E46 4-door. 8v vs 16v, but a bigger and heavier (about 60kg) car. Her car typically uses less than 10l/100km for normal running about, and will easily dip into 6l/100km on a run.
Statek 87 Report post Posted February 2, 2020 I had an M44 E36 compact - albeit manual with a 4.44 LSD (which means ~4500rpm at 100kph), and it did around 10l/100km with spirited driving, combined city/highway. I know manual vs auto, and the lower diff ratio both make a difference, but this might give you an idea.
nick496 269 Report post Posted February 2, 2020 I'd say the car would get results similar to what others say. But I've only really driven it around town (and not that frequently).
