E30stz 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2006 I've been through a VTNZ WOF with tinted front indicators. Basically I think the rule is it has to flash the colour orange and be seen from a certain distance.
Gus 5 Report post Posted April 22, 2006 tis normally sweet, as long as you dont go stupid dark
bravo 35 Report post Posted April 26, 2006 Tchnically it is not allowed unless tey are tinted plastic. the rule says you are not allowed to apply a coating or film to your lights be they indicators, tail lights or whatever. However, if they are not stupidly dark and can be clearly seen it seems the testing stations don't worry about it.
Simcox_325i 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 ok this may sound dumb, but do spray the tint on the outside or inside of the indicators??
E30stz 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 (edited) outside yes - heres a pick or two. I did 3 or 4 coats, I suggest you do 1 coat leave it to dry for 30mins or so then do another coat.. etc. Mine came out very well, dark, not black but still flashed orange. Cress 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2006 I did a tint to my indicators, they came up mint. me and sparkle got some of that spray on tint and did the indicators like E30stz. i also did the front and rear indicators. as as long as you dont go over the top then they will be fine. i did my front and rear ones with 4 coats of light spray, so they kept the glossy look. Also they dont make them stand out too much. Heres a pic of the finished job,
