Cambered Tyres

Probably an easy answer question. I just got new chromes for my E30 and was wondering how dangerous it is to ride on cambered tyres. Tread on one side is good whereas the other is not so good.

I've been told it can also lead to problems with wheel allignment etc.

My car is not lowered yet so wont be under the same camber. This tyre is easily the worst out of the set.

Any information would be great.

is that tyre fockeroo'd ? 1 side suggests most tread still there .. one side is pretty dismal. Does that tyre have any life left in it :(.

Its prety rooted. But if it was me, i would pump them up to 38, put them on then keep an eye on them. Im not a fast driver by the way....

But if you are like most, get a new set.

aslong as the tread is still 1.5mm across 80% of the tyre they are legal.

cto some of you this maybe pie in the sky, can i get a second, or be corrected?

Yea thats right 80% of the tyre must have the correct tread depth so your all good ^_^

BTW i thought you hated chromes?

What the Hell are 'CAMBERED TYRES'? cambered suspension maybe, Tapered tyres maybe? F***KED TYRES definately

cambered tyres are tyres that have been damaged as a result of camber. Would have thought that had been obvious.

Tyres showing wear because of 'too much camber'[camber thrust as racer's call it]is usually because of too much TOE-IN [German cars with huge amounts of caster,make this problem worse] Racers usually have zero-toe or some toe-out to counteract this problem.

with excess camber the tyres act like cones & try and drive [thrust] towards each other. [with the correct allignment, 5 degrees Neg can be used successfully]
