ACS523i 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2021 I recently purchased a 2009 BMW E61 M550i Touring - Awesome car, I noticed it had the undertray between the front bumper and Gearbox was missing. I contacted the dealer and they have assured me a new one (and bolts/ screws etc) has been ordered and will be on it's way. How important are these, I don't want anything getting up underneath and causing mayhem while I wait fo the new undertray to arrive Any thoughts? Young Thrash Driver 1020 Report post Posted May 19, 2021 It was taken off so you can measure how fast it leaks oil more easily. Also, when you inevitably tear the front bumper off on a car park judder bar, one less piece of plastic to get busted. It will be fine without it, provided you stick to town and not forestry roads. Perhaps the air flowing underneath won't flow as smoothly?
aja540i 1906 Report post Posted May 19, 2021 It does support the front edge of the guard liners so you might find that they are rubbing on the tyres without the tray there to hold them, it will take quite a while to wear right through the inner guard though!
