Sammo 2544 Report post Posted July 10, 2021 My E46 has been making a rear suspension noise coming out of my drive recently so jacked it up to have a looksee and found my rear sway bar had popped off the endlink bushing on the passenger side. New Lemforder endlinks from a few months ago. These are the ones that simply ‘pressure’ fit onto a rubber bushing - no buts and bolts etc Anyways, managed to get it back on, but it was weirdly easy and it moves relatively freely on the sway bar end now!? When installing I remember it wouldn’t budge at all. I did use some silicone grease on it to get back on as I thought it would be a real nightmare - did I make a mistake lubricating it? Why would it pop off in the first place? Unevenly loaded? Drove it around the block and clunk was gone but concerned it’s just going to pop off again….😑 IMG_2927.MOV
Eagle 1662 Report post Posted July 10, 2021 Yeah shouldn't be using any sort of grease on them. Id clean it off the parts and try with dish soap instead.
