loose screw hole for N46T eccentric shaft sensor

I've over torqued the one of the screw on the N46T eccentric shaft sensor on the valve cover and now it's just turning any which way it goes.

 

Any ideas how to fix it once I've take the valve cover out?

Only real option is to drill the hole out and insert a helicoil or similar.

If it's a low torque bolt (e.g. like 8-10 Nm) you *might* be able to get away with an alternate compound.  Here's a video of a guy testing thread inserts against some other options in case it gives you some ideas

Turns out, I just need to keep turning the screw while using a flat screw driver to pop out the eccentric shaft gasket. I initially thought that the thread was screwed it like a helicoil. But BMW only used loctite to tighten the thread in the small opening on the valve cover.

 

I've removed the old and crusted helicoil then added a loctite at the bottom and on the thread. I waited for 24 hours to cure and its done. Make sure it's just the medium strength loctite. If it's the red, you will never be able to fix the thread if it happens again because it will get fused on the plastic valve cover.
