gjm 3258 Report post Posted December 13, 2022 Miss M would like an additional key (fob) for her 116i. Hers has had an issue since she bought it, but it is slowly getting worse, and investigation reveals why: Budget doesn't extend to visiting BMW nad asking for a replacement, so what are the options? Her car is one without an ignition key as such - pop the fob in the centre console (or your pocket), press 'Start', and off you go. There's obviously some transponder activity. Can this be replicated without spend $Big ?
Allanw 1071 Report post Posted December 13, 2022 Talk to Paul at Milland. He got my E39 ones years ago, much, MUCH cheaper than the dealer here (and he never supplied a wrong part, like the dealer often did!). It was all factory, matched and reading to go, just needed syncing, as normal. I assume he gets them from a dealer overseas somewhere?
