joelwtk 0 Report post Posted Wednesday at 07:40 PM (edited) Hi all, Currently have an E90 M-Sport with the stock style 194 wheels - 17x8J ET34 fronts and 17x8.5J ET37 rears. Stock tyre sizes are 225/45/17 fronts and 255/40/17 rears. Need new tyres for the rears - there's not many options for this tyre size out there, but looking at a tyre/wheel size calculator online, it says a 225/45/17 would fit my rears. I'm new to this, so would fitting a square tyre setup on a staggered rim setup even work? Alternatively, is there a different size tyre that would fit my rears? Cheers Edited Wednesday at 07:52 PM by joelwtk
Vass 830 Report post Posted Wednesday at 08:07 PM Check out Hyperdrive, seems to be plenty of options for that size. Alternatively, you could go 245/40R17 whilst retaining much of the tyre width. I wouldn't go 225 on a RWD car, not sure if they would work on a wider rim but hey, I'm not gonna tell you off either.

Cheers You don't want 225/45R17 on the rear - it's a stretch. On the 8.5" wide rear you want the 255/40R17 as recommended. Why would you not want 255/40R17? Olaf 3315 Report post Posted Thursday at 04:35 AM FWIW I run 245/40R17 on my rears, Style 194 on e46. it's the right circumference and fit for e46 staggered setup on Style 68. 245/40R17 probably the closest thing with a few more options than Bridgestone RE-050 runflats in 255/40R17. Unless you're running with a spare tyre, you will want runflats again. Another option is to get square setup rims and whatever the standard tyre size is for E9x with factory square setup.
