akapjay 45 Report post Posted yesterday at 12:16 AM Hi mate, I recently fitted an aftermarket towbar to an E70 X5. If you manage to source one, factor in the wiring side of things. I used this wee module which splices into your existing wiring loom: https://anythingelectronic.co.nz/aenz/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_85&products_id=455 No errors on the car. Lights, electric brakes, all the basics work like magic.
paulo 74 Report post Posted 6 hours ago Agreed re the wiring cost. I had a tow bar fitting place quote me $400 for an installed wiring kit (that's over and above the actual tow bar cost) The were proposing to use one of these: https://www.trademe.co.nz/trade-me-motors/car-parts-accessories/towbars/auction-5186948391.htm i ended up sourcing one, and did a DIY. Easy to fit and worked perfectly on an LCI e60 with LED tail lights. Also used another one successfully on an LED tail light Audi.
