User Name 19 Report post Posted yesterday at 09:36 AM Hey All, Didn't know if to put this in the general topic or in maintenance. Long story short, i have to re-do the head gasket on one side as was having bit to much fun 2 years back (It was my burnout car cause it was to much coin to get road legal again, nothing wrong with drive line but most of control arms etc would need to be replaced and re-registered which has become a nightmare like certs) I will be contacting HellBM to get some prices off them, but has anyone used parts from "Victor Reinz" who is part of Mahle Group and been in the game a long time and i have used Mahle pistons and parts in other vehicles without an issue Asking cause they have "head gaskets" for as low as $100 NZ (most others are $150US or similar) and at that price with the little money i have be nice to see it going again (and potentially put a turbo i brought for it years ago) as it will either end up in another vehicle of mine or potentially another vehicle if my friend gets his way (thankfully he has a v12 merc) if i ever have the money (If i hadn't got health issues that cost me my career...ah to be human, so know others have that pain too) Thoughts advise? Aware i will need to buy head bolts THANKS
Eagle 1734 Report post Posted yesterday at 10:23 AM Tend to go for Erling gaskets but used Victor Reinz ones plenty on M30 and M20 engines, like you said been around forever . There was a bad batch of them many many years ago, but not sure if that was localized to M30 engined ones or not, probably a non issue.
