2013 BMW M135i headlight issues

Recommended Posts

Hi all. New to here so apologies if this has not already been covered...sure it would have. I have a headlight vertical aim control failure fault coming up. On top of that my daytime running lights on LH headlight do not work not to mention, what I have found out is a common problem, leaking headlights!! Local auto sparky gave me a price of $8k to sort these issues out. Half the value of the car!!! Has anyone out there managed to repair these using aftermarket parts or by any other means. I am reasonably handy being an ex mechanic but this car is not a 1965 mini!!! Any advise would be appreciated.

@Petrie - I'm not sure if it's the same fix, even if it's the same problem but the E series cars have this problem also, the "fix" is to remove the headlamp and drill drainage holes where they fill up with water, dry everything out, and reassemble. Front bumper possibly has to come off.

If you catch it early enough you can save the electronics and avoid costly replacements.
