Just as a matter of interest for me - regarding the high number of E30s.

Of the top of your head, is there an age correlation there?

What I mean is, E30s are old and cheap. Young people can easily afford them. As the E number gets larger, so does the cost. Less young people want to be (or are not allowed to be ) wasting more money on cars, as they have houses and young familes to care for.

Obviously there will always be people outside of that grand generalisation.

So this would place the average age more towards 20-30 age group?

the 3 / 5 / 7 series all cater for different crowds - generally the bigger cars are more for the family people. More space for baby seat, a situation where 2 door doesnt suit. So going by that it'd help differentiate that age where people have familys from say those that dont. So shopping carts be differentiated from the people movers, barges.
