TronSpec 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2006 (edited) Was feeling pretty proud of myself after this............... I've never attempted constructing this sort of thing as I've also had a pretty good paying job so just paid kunt's to do it Parts: 2x 3" mandrel bends stainless 3x rubber silicone joiner's & Hose clamps 1x K&N Filter Had to do a bit of measuring and cutting to make the bends fit, hole sawed a 3/4" hole and welded small tubing to base of the bend coming off the throttle body for a vaccum line. Plumbed off the vac hose for the charcol filter and made up a catch can for the block oil bleed off hose. All up I think this cost me about $180 plus about 6hrs to fit it all. f**k these hiny's are going down well.......... time for a joint Note: pic's are during fitting hence why everything ain't hose clamped up Edited September 20, 2006 by MrHamWallet

TronSpec 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2006 Just being looking on the R3v forums where I posted pic's of my intake and they metioned that I can't have a bend before my airflow meter as it cause's turbulance and it won't get accurate readings. Can anybody elaborate on this??? Do you need to have straight pipe before the AFM?? They also mentioned breather lines.... What are these and where do I need to put them?? Bare in mind I'm still using the stock ecu
TronSpec 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2006 (edited) Here some pics of it all completed. I've installed a oil catch tank to eliminate the oil breather line. I've done a 3/4' burst perfuration and welded a pipe just on the under side of the intake for the main vaccum hose and plumbed off the evaporater purge valve vaccum line. As for the bend before the HFM.... I have posintioned the fin's at the top of the pipe where the concentrated air will be.. I'm currently coming up with a heat shield and have pinched some dryer ducting for directing the air onto the filter...
