how do I tell ??

Silly me sorry in advance for being thick !

We have a 1983 320i 2000 5 speed manual advertised for sale and we are getting questions about whether it is an e30 how do I tell ? The vehicle was re-registered a few years before we bought it and we do not have the original ownership papers , only the new one..please help

it sure is.

e30 is just the model...reason for confusion is just the fact that its one of the first e30's after the e21.

Did they only make manual silver 320's or something in 83? Im interested now!!

Try entering the last 7 digits of the chassis number on www

You should then find out a bunch of stuff about your car.

Note the chassis number should be on a small plate at the front RHS of the engine bay (at least it is on my son's E30)

BMW E30 started being built at the factory in November 1982, and went on sale in December as 1983 models.

My 320i was manufactured January, 1983, so is also one of the very ealy ones.
