Guest Spargo Report post Posted November 24, 2006 I would rather get my wisdom teeth out than listen to bono winge on about poverty and the edge play the same riff through 34 different songs. Oh wait I just did. All is well then.

m325i 709 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 Hoo f**king ray!! At last someone other than me who sees that! Speak... Kanye would be pretty good probably. Why is it that very few people who are really into music like U2? But they are mega popular with gen. population? Its not like say, rolling stones, where everyone can see the quality. U2 = devoid of funk, soul, groove, and anything thats remotely crackin' I hope you all have fun, but if you do, remember there is other far better music to listen to. Hope my ***** Kanye gets up an interupts Bono, telling him that he should be the headline act.... would be some priceless sh*t to watch....haha
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 Got free tickets from a guy at work. Agreed that U2 aint the most original band but still better than alot of others that have performed here. BDO gonna be badass though no complaints bout that... I mean Tool,Trivium,Blindspott + all the other dub bands etc, should be sweet.
martyyn 2 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 U2 = devoid of funk, soul, groove, and anything thats remotely crackin'Id agree with that assesment now, but back in the 80's when they had something to really sing about (the troubles in Northern Ireland etc) they really rocked the world. You younger fellas might not appreciate what U2 were about back then. They were formed in a very much punk world full of anger with very little way of expressing it. What they sang about had a reality to it because the issues were something that people saw on a day to day basis. Now they bang on about poverty and hunger etc (all things that are truely awful) but its not something we see on a daily basis so its very hard to relate to. Someone said about the Stones. They rocked in their time but for god knows how long they have just been rubbish. See some of their footage from the 60's and compare it to now. It really meant something to the world back then but it has very little relevance now because the youth of today can expect to get what the youth back then could only dream about. There was a cracking series in England called 'The Rock Years' that went through the 60's the 70's, the 80's and 90's and showed just how things changed in those decades with the music that was being played by various people like the Stones, the Who, Bowie etc.
Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 Concert was pretty average...I mean they put on a good show and all, just performave wise werent that onto it. I think I've gotta say that (IMO) Bono has to be one of the WORST live singers...apart from Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters lol Still allright gig for free

Guest Andrew Report post Posted November 25, 2006 meh - don't talk to me about music. (I'd put money i'd listen to a lot more of it than 90% of the people on here] U2 were great musicians live. The politics was lame - with a big capital L.

Y'all go see Anthony Keidis live with the Chillis and you'll know what I'm talking about. How did my ***** Kanye spit? Did he get anyone's missus bumpin and grindin'??
