E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted March 20, 2004 Well I finally pulled finger and took the E30 to one of the Dyno days here in wellington. It was predominantly R32 & R33 skylines that were running. The 4 other cars I watched were: R33 GTS25t: 183rwKW (exhaust) R33 GTS25t: 190rwKW (exhaust) R32 GTS4: 177rwKW (exhaust FMIC LINK 18psi big turbo) R32 GTS4: 280wKW (as above but on a 3.0l bottom end) I managed a very respectable 218rwKW, which is alot more than I was expecting and 2nd most powerful vehicle of the day. Just to piss you other E30 guys off, it was making 120rwKW @ 3000rpm thats about the max hp rating on a 325i at the flywheel!! I will post the graph when I scan it in on monday. Guest Andrew Report post Posted March 21, 2004 Awesome Glenn, any mods planned, or is 218 enough for now? 218 - sh*t thats not nearly enough.
E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted March 21, 2004 Thanks Sam, Yeah, 218rwKW is plenty for now, when one of the little twins blows I'll go to a big single. Long term goal is 300rwKW (400rwhp), although that is only another 82rwKW away, shouldn't be too hard then!!
*sic 1 Report post Posted March 21, 2004 I managed a very respectable 218rwKW that all?

Guest Spargo Report post Posted March 21, 2004 cough "T-88 34D" cough good for 1000hp.
E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted March 22, 2004 cough "T-88 34D" cough good for 1000hp. Just have to leave the car for 10mins to spool it up then quickly jump in and let her rip aye.A nice GT30 or GT35, should easily see 400rwHP then.
Guest Spargo Report post Posted March 22, 2004 Why not a T3/T4 hybrid, good spool up off the T3, then a big bang from the T4?
E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted March 22, 2004 That is basically what a GT30 & GT35 are, but they have a ball bearing centre.
Guest Spargo Report post Posted March 22, 2004 Ah, I see. What sort of A/R ratios?
Gus 5 Report post Posted March 22, 2004 (edited) have my eyes gone funny or is that really over 1348.6 nM of torque? Edited March 22, 2004 by Gus
Grant 4 Report post Posted March 22, 2004 have my eyes gone funny or is that rally over 1300 nM of torque? Yes, my question exactly....
Guest Spargo Report post Posted March 22, 2004 Alow for the diff ratio. 1300 / 3.64 = 390Nm or so.
Grant 4 Report post Posted March 22, 2004 ahhhhh...Thanks Sam That is a lot of torque...very impressive Cheers
E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted March 22, 2004 Yeah as Sam said. Divide by the diff ratio 3.46. Nice to see it has over 300nm from 2500-6000rpm, peaking at 390ish. Sam: They all have a 0.70 comp cover, I would be looking at a 0.86 or 1.06 turbine housing (prolly the 1.06), with a 56trim comp wheel. Run that mother at 1.4bar (20psi) and she'll be honking!!
Guest Spargo Report post Posted March 22, 2004 Hell yes! The 1.06 housing would be good for an easy 450rwhp. Sounds like a good plan, not as much lag either. I trust you've seen http://www.turbofast.com.au/javacalc.html
m325i 711 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 How is that 218kw bm drivable? Mine is a joke in the wet, yours must be verging on illegal/menace to society!
E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 you just don't bother in the wet, coming on boost in 3rd (2700rpm) it will let loose. It's got more hp than a stock 325i avaliable under 3500rpm so you don't need to use all the rpm. In the dry it is alot of fun!!
Gus 5 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 It's got more hp than a stock 325i avaliable under 3500rpm so jealous wanna do me a 1JZE swap glenn? in about 5 years?

Guest Andrew Report post Posted March 23, 2004 got hp? go honda go! 205 hp at the flywheel at 8500 rpm! ... talk about making a lot of fuss and not getting a lot done. Is that your car Damien?
