will 169 Report post Posted January 27, 2007 (edited) where did you get the plates mate? www.germanplates.com as stated, when you go there, look down the bottom of the page, they are doing a deal for 2 plates for $39.95US, with shipping comes to $50.85US, works out to roughly NZ$73 at current exchange rates excluding paypal charges. If you order 2 sets, you will save a bit on shipping, so find a mate.. nice collection! are they all yoursyup, but the touring belongs to my dragon..Will Edited January 27, 2007 by will

martyyn 2 Report post Posted January 28, 2007 Ive recently bought two sets of plates through these guys. Whilst the second set took what seemed like an age to arrive it was the first set that caused the most trouble. They just never turned up after nearly two months. However Chris immediately offered to send a new set out and I received them within a week ! The german plates are 'pressed' just like the NZ ones (my UK plates are a solid plastic) but I was surprised that they are just stickers on the plate - the flag and fern. It made me wonder if anyone has access to a sheet of plastic and a half decent printer that they could do there own in NZ. I can certainly recommend germanplates and if you want the backing plates aswell the total cost is NZ 115 (give or take)
will 169 Report post Posted January 28, 2007 I ordered my 2 sets 12 Jan, think Emma about the same time. I got notification of a parcel on friday and collected them from the post office yesterday, same as Emma. My first set for the 'vert took no longer than 2 weeks. Sounds like you have the bad luck gremlin on your shoulder Martin, throw some salt over it... (supposed to get rid of them I believe..!!?? (my gran used to tell me that..) Chris is definitely on to it and keeps in touch with emails so you know what is happening, including emailing a proof of the plates so there is no mistake. (my gran used to tell me that..) I must have really upset someone because I got no discount for ordering two sets and no emails with pretty pictures first Wouldnt stop me using or recommending him though, cant argue with the fact he immediately sent another set out. Brilliant service. I think he even answered one of my emails on New Years Day !
cainchapman 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2007 So, has anyone bought the NZ German plates? Are they any good. I'd happily buy them. Plates are ripping us off with the pricing they are offering.

Yes mate, I just got a set for a friend. They are very good, but what I didnt notice at first was that the blue ends are just stickers. Very good stickers but knowing that I wouldve liked to have put them on myself as they are very slightly off center and being the perfectionist that I am I wouldve preferred to have spent three times as long doing it to make sure they were perfectly straight ! Jazzbass 1 Report post Posted January 28, 2007 I bought mine from Europlates. Cost $NZ53 landed for the pair. Funnily enough I got them just before NZ changed to the new font and they looked a tad odd. Now the font is the same they look normal. I ordered them over Xmas 2005 and they took a little longer accordingly. http://www.europlates.com/

m325i 711 Report post Posted January 29, 2007 Does any one know a site that does a 'zero' with a bar through it? I have emailed a few, but no reply. My old german plate had a '0' in it, but it was a funny kind of half bar through it, not like the 'real' NZ ones, (even new font). Cheers
