Nice job, how long did you wait between clear coats? I always end up with a rough finish and need to do a lot of rubbing/cutting when I do touch ups

Also I used some 2k clear they said it was  high density stuff which goes on alot thicker and alot more glass look at the end.

Great work!

With all the effort you have made, why not just spray the whole car?

Lol ... Thought about it...

Still can if I wanted to I suppose with all this spare paint.

The issue was with all the prep so was going to do section by section since I had a limited time window.

And the paint on the other panels was mint any way. Looked like a past repair / paint job had stated to go south tho.

But I'm ending up going to do the entire front bumper now, few scuffs and easier to sand back.

So that leaves me roof + doors + fenders if I wanted to haha.

Was also unsure on how much 2 litres of paint would cover, the shop suggested that I would need 2 litres (un-thinned) to do what i did.

Bumper done.

Also went diamond black on the kidney grill's and mesh.

After some buffing of the car and the sun to come out. Might get some final photosIMG_20171001_115415.thumb.jpg.14b8e0293ad1ed8414d7b7d705a1dcc5.jpg

If you had a spray booth definitely lol .... Probably won't do it in a workshop again. Too Much dust from everywhere even after a big clean up and also water on Ground

yeah subliminally i've been uploading this stuff not just as a progress memory for the future, but to tempt others to get into it.

I mean who else wouldnt want black mesh, and black kidney grills, they make the car look way more agressive

if you have a 330ci, you have to look aggressive.

I can't believe the before and after shots of the car, wen't from average looking vehicle before - to 1000x

The CRC liquid cut and Polish works amazing btw.

Got a 2 step finisher that adds nice deep glass look

Still a few finger prints in that photo lol

Trialed with some cheaper compound prior to crc and can definitely notice a difference especially in the time to get the result.

Would you hire me your spray gear, and sell me any remaining paint, so I can spray my engine bay?

You got a compressor?

I'm in Tauranga bro - Paint Gear is my brothers workshop (but possible) will ask.

How much paint do you think you will need?

Paint and clear? Thinners etc?

that might be easier,

I have left over

- 475/9 diamond black paint + thinner (1:1 mix) (1litre each / 2 litres once thinned)

- 2k clear + hardner + autothane thinner  2:1 + 5/10% thinner

- universal thinner

Let me know ... should be able to sort something out

And one last thing!

Don't know if everyone likes the style but I think it adds a little pop to it.

I'll be putting up some propper ride photos up once my new wheels arrive. Add it to the bimmersport community officially!
