Well, after seeing that, I think I'll shut up now

Lucky bugger.... my excess is still huge with state, even though my parents and family now have 5 cars + house with them. Funily enough the only high risk car they quoted me out of my list of potential cars was the 25GTT skyline, all the other turbos and BMW's they said were low risk. Gotta hate being under 25

For some reason I'm trying to picture a turbo or supercharged M50 in a E30 shell...... Also, because I'm curious, I take it the SMG gearbox has the same mounting holes and stuff as the manual, so if you were putting in the S50B32 engine into an E30, you could also put in the SMG gearbox right?

Thanks for the info, project gets delayed a little bit more however..... got rear ended on the way home tonight Tho the other person got about 4 times more damage than I did, surpisingly strong that rear bumper

Everyones entitled to their own opinion. I'm sure he would use a BMW engine.... if it wasnt over twice the price of the lexus one......

Sounds like a plan to me. Of course, one of my other coworkers is wondering about a 5 series with a lexus v8. Hmm.... could be fun

While this is under discussion, so is someone has a E36 325i auto, whats worth putting in there for gains? or is just just worth saving up for a E46 330i or something? Options I've considered: Importing a E36 M3 in a few years Buying a E46 330i in NZ M50 engine swap to a E30 any of those good persuits? I'd like a second car really to give it sh*t on the track without worry since I have a road car

I from CHCH, didnt hear about the crash tho.

damn, now you've given me an idea.......

Now those BMW's need to be taken out to the back yard, stripped (and some parts buried) and put out of their shame. "The car was taken to cruises after cruise and shows after shows…..where ever you took the car …you can hear the crowd whisper “WOW” you know then it was all worth while….." I wonder if the crowd were saying anything after "WOW".... like "WOW, how hideous" or something

It depends what you want, for sound clarity I'd definately look at an Infinity setup all around, but back in the day when I was installing stuff a 300 watt 12" Infinity Beta sub was $1000 or so. Straight out insane bass to make you go deaf in 3 seconds, something like a couple of Rockford Fosgate Punch Power series subs are not too bad. But these days I'd definately go for clarity over straight up volume. I guess it all depends on what your gearing up the system to do and what results you want out of it. For my 325i I plan on redoing all the speakers and retaining the stock locations using Infinities. not too sure on the amp setup but atleast one amp will drive the sub alone (only going for a single 12"). Nothing over the top, just a nice pleasent well balanced system is all I'm after

Thats true, unless its something classy and well thought up on a nice car like a M3, M5, Lambo or the like. -
I second the mothers vinyl/plastic polish, its great stuff for that trim

Wouldnt have any sites or info on that would you? I'm quite curious

I think another point to note on the issue is that there are differing degrees of stupidity. For example accidentally loosing traction in an unfamiliar car for a few seconds is certianly nothing compared to say, participating in illegal street drags. Sure, everyone does something stupid, but chances are the people that participate in street racing or burnouts or whatever do it more than just once (tho I'm sure not all do, somewhat of a generalisation on my part but I think you get what I mean). At the end of the day, Save it for the track

What about the Hartge H50? That has the M power v8 and from the vids I've seen looks like alot of fun, espeically if you like oversteer.

Speaking of interior mods, who'd be up for a little project? (for $$ of course). Would require some skills with doing leatherwork. Killa B, something you'd be interested in or have time for?

I looked at that as an option when I was shopping for cars, out of all the cars on the list the Skyline was the only one they wouldnt insure (unless it had GPS car security) and even then it was a "we *might* consider it". Damn nice car tho, but geared for a different market I would imagine. I dont think I could get much better than a bimmer on a long distance trip

I dont have any probs with mine in the wet unless I try, however I like to see what happens with a M3/M5 on a wet road :-)
