You could cut the cnr of the M5 console on a band saw to suit ASC switch if need be, maybe check it out first before the deal is done?

There was an M5 style one with the pockets either side on trademe for $150 or so a few weeks back.

My friend & i still have a genuine BMW M5 surround Ian, the same type Ari is talking about NZ$115.It is in black but you could always get it recovered in leather the same colour as your car interior, pix below.

Also make sure the thin hose leading to the expansion tank isn't blocked, fairly common problem.

I regularly squeeze my top radiator hose when cold to listen for the float bobbing up/down in tank.

Speaking of those funny cars, this is my mates 911 for sale if anyone is looking for old school 3ltr job, not a great marketing ad but it's the car that counts.

edit, the 3ltr air cooled flat 6 sounds awesome, don't forget all the new more powerful engines are watercooled.

Also pay to get a prepurchase done by Ray over the shore, lots of these old cars have long lists of deferred maintenance, people don't fix things as they occur.

edit..remember folks this is a very powerful torquey car, thru low speed cnrs you can step the massive 10" rears out in the dry such is the massive V8 like torque due to AFM delete mode.

If you look at E30 M3 values in the UK they have almost doubled in the past 2 yrs, saloon still a fav track day weapon (with enhancements).These cabs will be some of the best condition because not being tracked & limited numbers, proper restored cabs will be owned by collectors so you won't be able to find bargains.

Take note of how testing is done to achieve 0-60miles etc times....whip the screaming 4 cylinder up to within a few hundred revs of its 7000rpm red line, thats why its difficult to achieve magazine times unless you want to do similar launchs. Road trim M3's were not overly fast.
