  1. We should start a thread of "bad hair days" we have encountered with service agents. It would be interesting to know where not to go and may result in an increased focus in service if service agents become aware that - bad service = no bimmersport customers


  2. "Firestone charged me $50 in Hamilton, they didn’t get it right first time so I took it back and got it perfect. They have a customer satisfactory thing where they have to do it to a high standard other wise you can just take it back and it should'nt cost you anything. One thing I didn’t like though is them letting a young “tire fitter†take it for a test to make sure it was ok, me driving my car rough is ok someone else no. hope it helps some what. Ta"

    I am interested in understanding your comment didn't get it right and how you knew they didn't get it right


  3. Has anyone any knowledge in deciphering the trouble codes you can obtain through Test 14 in the OBC, I performed this test and got the following readout:

    DIAG 1 F5 84 000

    DIAG 2 BF 88 021

    DIAG 3 8B 82 000

    DIAG 4 92 82 000

    DIAG 5 91 82 000

    I queried K&N in the states whether they had a cold air intake solution for a 99 540i and this was their response:

    Thank you for your interest in K&N products. Unfortunately we do not offer an intake system for this year and model and at this time there are no plans to.

    So if your looking at a cold air intake for your 97 it looks like you would need to do the plumbing yourself with a K&N filter on the end, there a quite a few overseas threads on how to.


  5. I had an issue with some window repair work that Smith and Smith in Adelaide St performed. I emailed the GM who phoned me immediately and replaced the not-so-well -repaired windscreen with a new one at my earliest convenience at no charge. I was quite impressed with his efforts to sort out an unhappy customer. Worth a try.
