Hi, im after a replacement gearbox for my 1995 E36 318i. Please PM me with your prices, thanks.
-
I'll see how it goes. If i don't get any offers i'll probably end up stripping it and selling it cheaper.
-
I feel its a fair price. If you were to sell off the extras and put it back to standard and fix it you've got yourself a pretty cheap car. I still have the original wheels and springs which will come with the car. Whoever buys it could most likely sell the wheels for $1000 use that to fix the transmission and then you've got yourself a 318 for $5k

Bump! Need to get this out of my garage. Any offers or suggestions appreciated.

Hi guys, selling my 1995 318i Auto. 135,000k's. Wof till September and Rego till July. The car has a few issues, but that has been reflected in the price. The the car had the oil changed every 6months and any other small things that have needed attention have been done. The gearbox has started slipping and will most likely need to be replaced, have been quoted a very resonable price from one of the sponsors to repair it although i have another car and no time to get this one fixed. Also has the common problem sagging headliner. All modifications on the car have been certified. Am hoping to get $5000ono. Car now has clear indicators not orange as shown in this picutre and can also provide more pictures on request.

Taking it for a warrant tomorrow. So will get the trans fluid level checked. Its pretty weird, i had the trans flushed about a year just because i wasn't sure what maintenance was done while it was in japan. I would've expected the fluid to last longer than a year. How much would labour be to remove old and install new gearbox?
-
Am having problems with the auto trans on my 1995 E36 318i. Once the gearbox is warm the gearbox will slip when shifting gears. When i take off after stopping it goes through the gears fine, but when i slow down for a corner and accelerate to go round the corner it slips and doesn't go into gear straight away. Anyone have any idea what the problem would most likely be and how much it would cost to repair?.

All good I'll try find the camera and post them up tomorrow. I got some Jamex super lows for the front that u can have for $50 if u want to try them out.. They've never been in the car just been sittin around
-
Jamex super lows in the rear should get you about the height you want at the back.. And if u can find some E30 6 cylinder super lows for the front it'll just go over the tyre but leave you enough clearance to turn without rubbing. if u have a look through my old posts you'll find a pic of my car. And the lowest point on that is about 70mm. And if your getting 18's use 35 profile tyres and it wont rub.. i havn't rolled my guards or anything Can post some clearer pics if you want. Just gotta take some tho lol

Hehe, makes me wish i had read through all this before i dropped my bmw . Pretty much any super low spring you chuck in it your gonna have to get it certed im Running 18x8 with 225/35 tyres and have no problems with rubbing at all. Although my cert says they're 18x9" for some reason. If i was to do it again i probably would've started of with adjustables since i've had to cert it on the springs i have. It rides nicely just i have a problem with speed bumps . Don't expect to be able to get ur car down to the beach once u've sacked it out.
-
The lowest part on it is the chasis rails and they're about 75mm off the ground. And thats why it needed to be certed as the lowest part is under 100mm off the ground

H+R out of E30 in the front and jamex from E36 in the rear.. drives nice, although it can be a pain to get over speed bumps sometimes. also needed to be certed
-
i've got H+R out of an E30 in the front of mine and jamex for E36 in the rear, and its lowered it quite nicely . Maybe the e30 springs go lower. Have never tried my jamex springs in the front to know.. Still rides nice too
