Whoa well I've got plenty of ideas now! Hah yeh I should be able to not worry about my car, but we've had alot of burgerlies around this area in the last few months so want that peace of mind. Yeh I should be thinking of ways to not get blown up in mid air instead... I should be safe flying emirates, muslim airline and all... Thanks for all your replies. At this stage I'll remove the steering wheel and remove the spark plugs.... and to stop it being towed or rolled anywhere, what about threading a long chain through each of the mags?? Of course, the moat idea could be a much safer option... Cheers guys

I'm heading overseas shortly for 4 weeks and I'm just wanting some ideas to help make my car more secure for when I'm gone. The only idea thats sprung to mind so far is to leave it with a near empty fuel tank, any other ideas? I have a 4 star alarm but I know that would only detour a "pro" for a few mins. Cheers

Hi there. Just wondering if anyone can help me out. I have a 1993 e36 320i and have a few questions... 1) When I turn my battery on and leave it on, their is a constant ticking sound coming from under the bonnet? Is this norm? 2) How can I replace my right indicator bulb thats in the dashboard? Very minor but may aswell replace it if its easy. 3) I'm currently selling some 16" mags on trademe that came off a 3 series bmw, offset = 38. I have been asked if these will fit an e28, I've tried searching but to no avail. Does anybody know? Cheers

Hey, nice e36 you got there. Were those mags off trademe by anychance? I was thinking bout getting them... You're pretty much in the same stage that I am with my e36. Heres a pic of mine: http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index.php?showtopic=7274 First thing I did was get my sounds (from Madsoundz too, good people to deal with) then got BMW 18" from toptown with 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 tyres, they're pretty wide on the back! I haven't had any trouble with the width. I'm looking for suspension aswell, I think I'll go with the B&G springs from Autolign. So you're from Hamilton too? Have you discovered O'Reagon Rd yet?

I've just got insurance sorted on my 1993 320i... I only wanted third party, fire and theft. I'm 19 and have my full drivers licence. Mods are: 18" alloys, sound system being less than $1,500, 4 star alarm. I was told State would do the best deal but they declined. So phoned around and found that my bank Westpac was the best deal. $19 a fortnight with $300 excess.... So give your bank a go... Wonder if they'll still be my friend once I get springs + tints + k&n filter installed?

What does RY mean? I know they have "BBS" engraved on the outside, I'll check if RY is anywhere after work

Hey all, have decided to post a pic of my bmw. It's my first bmw and have owned it for 2 months. It came standard, so far I've installed a sound system and got some BMW 18" alloys. Next will be to get some lowered springs. I don't want it sacked, just 30mm or so would be nice. I have a friend who can get me dobi or B&G (springs from Germany, think thats what they're called) springs for pretty cheap so they shouldn't be too far away. Cheers

Ok well the problem was nothing, my left brake light was out when I went to the alarm place. I don't understand how I missed that, I checked them last night and all seemed ok Meh. I must say tho, I'm pretty impressed that the computer can pick things up like that, bit of a change from my old corona. And yeh I know the eyeball you're talking about. Yeh my top 3 tool songs wud included stinkfist, schism, and aenima obviously.... :mosh:

Hi all, I'm new to the forums and was just wondering if anyone could help me out. I have just bought my first BMW (1993 320i) and today I got an alarm professionally installed. I drove it away and on my way home I turned on my lights and a "Check" icon came up on the dash and a "Tail Light Failure" message appeared on the vehicle management scanner? (Don't exactly know how to use this yet). I stopped and checked the back lights and everything was working normally, checked brake lights and indicators and everything seemed ok. Does anyone know why this message has shown? Also, I need a new central locking motor for the driver door. If I look for one from a BMW scrap yard would one from any 3 series model work? Who would I have to see to get this installed? Electrician? Thanks in advance
