    Fibreglass bonnets

i would be keen if youd be able to make them nice enough for a street car, id even donate my old bonnet once i got a new one so you could have an e36 one to mould others from, the paint is in s*** box condition so itd probly only be good as something like what you would need it for. DEFINATLY KEEN but only if its gonna look good. cant wait to hear bak!! (oh and id have to check with the bank AKA bf lol!!)
  11. hiya, im in the same sort of situation as you are, that is very keen on getting more power in my 320i aswell posibly turbo or just a new engine, heres some rough quotes i got from SDeuropean, (all for just the engine) M50B28 (2.8L st6) $4500 M60 B40 (4L V8) $5500 M73 (5.4L V12) $4000 -- my favorite at the mo! i would say your budget above would need to be doubled, but ive never actually done it myself so i could be wrong but i have just been doing alot of research latley into it. altho i give you ful credit for thinking about it and if your engines already out then its too late to turn back so good luck!!! i have been told there is a book out there called maximum boost by corky bell that is definatly worth a read if your thinking of turboing something!! there is a guy on bimmersport who is worth talking to his user name is 325GRANT when i mentioned that i was considering turboing he was very helpfull, which as good as it is to have these forums to get help, not every one is as helpfull as you would hope. hope some of this helps in some way

    PINK MY RIDE

hey, do you have a cert? if you do then the cops shouldnt have been able to slap a pinky on it! i have had experiance with having these nasty little stickers, they are a right pain in the a**!!! i hope that you have gud luck getting it off! our car wasnt even dangerous we just took the back interior out coz we were putting in lightweight stuff and just happened to get pinged with none in, but vtnz were not going to let us get another warrent so we just ended up selling for parts, i hope you dont have the bad luck we did!!!

    Smoked Lights

hey i did mine with the nite shades from repco, they fade real quick tho, i neva knew you could get glossy tint, whats the proper name for it, and is it just from repco aswell? i think if id have got the glossy one i wouldnt have had the same fading troublz im having now. as for the warent thing i just flew through a warrent with my smoked indicators and mine are pretty dark!! (i used the whole can!!!)

    TURBO E36

Are you sure? I looked over the net to find engine power figures for the m50 and m52 series engines and each site showed an average of 43bhp difference between the m50b20 and m52b28 engines. A turbo will give me much more power than that. Here are two of the sites I searched on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW http://www.bmwworld.com/engines/m52.htm According to other peoples experiences turboing m50 engines on other sites it seems it would be very possible to triple the standard engine power figure safely with the addition of a .140" head gasket. And it wont be any cheaper for me to buy a 2.8 because it means I have to buy another engine. Plus if I blow it up, m50b20s are cheaper than m52b28s. Hate me if you must but Im gonna have a turbo something in my E36 and I will do a full write up on my progress Any info on the subject is appreciated.

    TURBO E36

hey guys on the v8 note, that has been considered aswell and is still a very real posibility, i saw on a website somewhere that my little 2L uses 9.2L / 100km and the 530 uses 10.5L / 100kms i couldnt beleive the difference in gas compared to the power. when i heard that i thaugh hell, why not go bigger!! so then we thaught about how difficult it may be to get the v12 from the 750 into it but that may be getting a lil carried away... who knows, i cant imagine that tho a 5L v12 in a 3 series shell!!!!!!!

    TURBO E36

the cheapest ive seen an e36 m3 (200,000+ kms) go for is $16000 considering i bought this car for $3000 if i was to spend another $13000 on it a standard m3 wouldnt come close to the power id be making, and all for the same price. gimmie sum credit i am a CHICK thinking of turboing my bmw!!!!!!!!!!! it doesnt matter what engine it has in it, ITS TIME FOR A TURBO!!!! after seeing the hp the usa guys are getting out of their standard engine blocks it makes it seem quite acheivable to safley double the standard power figure. may not be a huge increase compared to the standard m3 figures, but its a heck of alot cheaper. and there is still room for improvement am still in the planning stages so a 2.8 is still on the cards. as for supercharging i wasnt sure if it would be the right kind of power band that i was after. yes i did think about it tho.

    My E36 sedan

i had mine redone professionally, apparantly its a really common fault to do with the uv in nz being to high and the adhesive not being able to handle it so in a sense of words it melts away and turns into dust. it cost me $500 for everything, all i have to say is shop around for someone with a good rep and ask to see the new fabric before they put it in, i didnt and ended up getting the wrong colour, but its all fixed now so its all good!! there is a nationwide company called 'fibrenew' give them a call. if you get it done professionally at least you know its done right instead of doing it yourself.

    Mint 6er

Correct me if Im wrong but I thought that the E46 M3 CSL has the best hp/litre for a production car with over 100hp per litre. Is the hemi's record for a modified engine?
