  1. I bought the early access, and it felt terrible on the sim wheel. Waited for a few patches that were supposed to update it and they were no better. Fiddled around with the settings on the profiler and in game and it felt awful. It was either way too twitchy, way too much feedback or too much play in the wheel. To be fair I kind of gave up on it and haven't trialled any of the new updates yet. Anyone know if they're any better?

Other than that (most important thing) it is pretty good. Not quite a sim like iRacing but pretty good for a rally game.

  2. Gave the car a shakedown yesterday at Hampton downs. Spent the first half of the day chasing a bad misfire. After trying different coils, upping the fuel pressure, and adding a vacuum line to the regulator, I noticed that the water temp and oil pressure/temp values on the dash/logger were jumping up and down with values as low as 8 degrees and as high as 180psi. After fiddling around with the temp sensors etc, we managed to work out that the new link cam angle sensor is creating some EMI across the sensors, causing the ecu to think the Temps/pressures are too low or high and effectively changing the fuel/ign maps and kicking in safety rev limiters.

Unplugged the Temp sensor and the base value was set to 100deg and it was sweet to go. Did 3 laps half arsed, and 2 laps at full noise and then something in the gearbox broke. Ha. Obviously got a bit more torque now. Was awesome to drive when it went though.

Will have it resolved for round one. Yeow.

  3. Haha yeah it's pretty subjective too. Suspension, driving style, track temp etc all make a difference obviously. I found 25 too low for big brakes and a little bit more power. 27 cold seemed to go ok and survive 8 laps without going off. Think they were coming in at 30 or so. Some guys swear they go out on 34 etc. I'm no expert at all But I seemed to have a good run at 27 cold on a hot track, hard suspension setup.

  4. Have a set of 6 m54b30 pistons that have had the valve recess pocketed to allow high lift cams. Ring grooves have been cleaned and Pistons machine cleaned, ready to be installed. Have put them in block then decided to use a different piston for m52 stroker. Can throw in 4 m52b28 rods if needed for free (other 2 are mia)

$350 or near offer, have no use for them.

  5. Never mind the fitment of the boot, I need to cut the bolts shorter on the wing. This is bolted into place but the boot isn't attached properly.

Fit is tight on a standard e30 bonnet, but I'll glue it after I get it all back from the painters.

    Cheers again Hans.

  6. As a 76kg white male from Beachaven, gang member related rants could have there own thread.

As a 78kg Arab from beachaven, the gang members are the least of my worries. They worry about them selves, are generally pretty tame unless you are from an opposing gang, and are pretty sweet to have a bit of a yarn with. I once had a tangi (I'm not sure what that is to be honest) next door and the hells Angels neighbours were some of the most genuine people I have ever spoken to. The real gangs aren't the problem, It is the wanky teens that dress in red and blue and mug old woman and spray paint fences that need to be culled. When was the last time you saw a patched member of a gang tagging on someone's fence?

There are far more criminals that wear a blue shirt and tie every day.
