  1. Do you have much information about the build? I'd love 200hp outta my E36 M42.. anything over that would be fantastic.
  2. Agreed! There are some real good cops around (i've got one that lives 3 properties down from me.. didn't know it when I left home but he's a friend of my parents.. whenever I get a new car I take it to him and he points out anything that he reckons I'll get pulled up on) but then there's some real pricks too (I got a fine for pulling a u-turn in an empty industrial area.. between two side streets.. apparently I could have caused an accident if there was other traffic, so I recieved $600 "driving in a manner likely to cause damage, injury or annoyance" fine.. I think he was sitting down there waiting for someone to come and do something stupid, and just pulled over the first car he could)
  3. That is so hot! I'm wanting to do that to my e36 318is Coupe. (m42)
  4. I think maybe they should abandon when speeds reach 50% over the speed limit. So 150 in a 100 zone, 75 in a 50 zone.. it's all about limiting the danger to other road users. Police are in all likelyhood, more skilled in highspeed driving than the people they're pursuing.. especially in the 14yo with mums corolla case. So a skilled driver pushing an unskilled driver to higher and higher speeds is what should be avoided.
  5. Agreed. Its going to happen no matter what, we just need to stay sensible about it and use some decent judgement.
  6. What about brake caliper paint?
  7. Who else is going to agree that e39's are f***ing sexy?
  8. Anyone see this? apparently crashed at racetrack. http://www.turners.co.nz/TabId/188/vguid/5...94/default.aspx 2006 Porsche Cayman. Owned.
  9. Jordan was a school mate of mine, they had a memorial service for him the friday after the crash.. it was very good. He had an R32 GTS (Non-Turbo 2.0 Inline 6 RWD Nissan Skyline) and from all i've seen he was generally a very reserved driver.
  10. I really like that colour on the e39's.. those wheels aren't bad either.
  11. E34 525... It's About The Only Thing They're Good For. U13 Nissan Bluebirds are surprisingly good. Pretty much any wagon that has folding seats =] E36 Coupe isn't too bad, passengers front seat definately the best. Worse would be a mid 80's Mitsubishi Mirage (not mine..) But i'm gonna go with sakdbma and give the big thumbs up on bonnets. ...especially the bonnets of cars other than yours..

    TURBO E36

Dinan makes a RHD supercharger kit and AA's turbo kit was able to be optioned left/right hand drive. Unsure if it's still being manufactured.
  13. There was an 87' M3 with a Showcar's number plate driving around Tauranga a sunny weekend 2 or 3 weekends ago. Drooled just a little bit.
  14. would be very interested to get in touch about the buildup of a 318is-Turbo! as that's what I'm wishing to do with my E36 coupe!

    TURBO E36

Hey guys, interesting discussion here. I was thinking about turbo-ing the M42 in my E36 318is but i'm unsure now (i'm after about 200-220hp) Have you thought about a non-BMW engine swap? (Nissan RB25DET etc.. I'm questioning an SR20DET myself) if not, i'd go for a 328 swap and work from there.. there's plenty of turbo/supercharged 328's in the states so if you look around (google search turbo e36 is a fairly good start) you'll find plenty of information.. Dinan, AA and a few other American companies offer full bolt-on kits (AA's supercharger kit is apparently an 8 hour job)
