They occasionally come up on Trade me. You just have to keep an eye out. Usually around 200 for a pair (not including ballasts). The ballasts alone from Hella are $500+ Its not a cheap upgrade Ryan. I'd probably suggest investing in one of these kits if you are serious. These are the complete retrofit kits as sold by Hella. These include everything to install them in an E39. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E39-5-s...9#ht_500wt_1182 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-E39-5-s...#ht_1982wt_1199 Edit: I would however check to make sure there are no differences between American spec and Euro spec E39's. Might be two different kits but I would doubt it.

I think you will find Ryan that those are actually backlit by bulbs. They are 'celis style' which doesn't necessarily mean they use LED's. I'd ask Eurolights first.Yes, the only parts on the tail-lights lit by the LED's are the celis strips which are the park lights. We bought them off trade me just as the plain two back light units. The seller had misrepresented them and they didn't come with the ballasts. We searched around but couldn't find a supplier of the ballasts. Not even eBay America or Germany had them alone. In the end we went through Hella NZ and he had to buy a brand new set although he did get it at wholesale. We flicked the other pair off to Allan as he already had a facelift and was upgrading from orange celis to clear celis so he didn't need the ballasts.

High five!Yep, Allans dead on the monies. Did the conversion on my dads '98 540. Standard bulb tails to celis clears. Bottom line is you need ballasts if you're going to LED for the E39. If you don't install ballasts the LEDs will continuously flicker and eventually die out. If the car has celis lights already then no holes need to be drilled. If the car has celis lights already theres no need for the ballasts. If it doesn't then it needs both.

Umnitza for the win. Lifetime warranty compared to a year for pretty much all others (Angel eyes I'm talking about).

Ice White are still yellow. Ultra Blue are the only ones I found that are white/blueish. You're looking at around $90 for a pair.

Wow, staggered 17's. Rare. You'd easily get $1500 on trademe. If not a bit more. I want.

Happy birthday you crazy guy!

You can get away with 215's but the 35 profile is too low. Thats why they look small in your guards.

I bet whoever bought it only did cause of the rake! That sh*t's extreme!

I can't really comment Ryan. I assume they should be fine. As mentioned they are made to fit E30 although they work with E36 (I've got them in mine) and other models. It just a vinyl overlay so you can position it where ever looks best. Cheers

Bump. Picture.

Bump. One left from memory.

The Ultra racing strut braces are better than half the crap out there and they are a very reasonable price for what they are.

I don't find that at all. My 323 and my fathers 540 wear down tyres perfectly evenly. E36's have a bit of rear camber from factory but camber isn't the only cause of wear on the inside of the tyre. Excessive toe out can cause wear on the inside of the tyre which is actually the cause in a lot of cases. Excessive toe out mixed with camber can obviously cause accelerated wear. If the toe settings are just 1/32 inch off its appropriate setting each tyre on that axle will scrub almost 1 meter sideways every kilometre. My understanding after reading a lot about set ups is to set front toe to 0, and rear to 0.2.

Tis awesome.

Beautiful car mate. See it all the time on Linwood Ave

Heres a gold version. A bit rough. Had a go with the gunmetal and colourcoded but didn't really come out noticably darker? Maybe just something I did. But someone else can have a go at those.

Just saw this Glenn! Didn't realise you had taken pictures of these on your little monster yet. I'm still undecided. I think your schnitzers look great but the M3 wheels look great too. Ahh! IMO try the whole set on sometime (thats if you've got tyres) and see which you like more.

..... Members of the general public aka. Joe Bloggs aren't usually directly effected by the impact of the conviction, which is likey the reason why you don't hear of others getting off the conviction. However in the case of a Police officer where their job rests on the conviction then the impact of the conviction is large. Thats why you hear of the few police officers who get off.

I agree with Peter somewhat. Don't get me wrong I have no tolerance with drink driving but I'd rather have an senior officer with experience back working again than off the force in another job. These cases are not easy to judge at all. NO-ONE knows if this is the first time he's driven while over the limit, only that its the first time he's been caught. But he was 1 and a half times over the limit which doesn't happen without quite a bit of drinking. It's extremely unfair that he gets charged and gets let off with a light slap. He has received the same conditions as someone who gets convicted though, just without the charge on his record. There are a couple people on other forums who claim that they were charged and received the conviction with the only penalty being to pay the fine and court costs, no loss of licence which I completely disagree with. I would never drink and drive and I have absolutely no sympathy for those who get caught. However this cop gets put on a pedestal. He's not the only one who has been let off with a light slap guys. All charges are judged on a case by case basis, whether thats fair idk?? But his position of authority kinda assumes he knows better than to drink drive. I don't think this is a case of if a cop drink drives he gets let off. I believe all evidence was explored and the ruling was made regarding that. I don't believe that a judge would have let off a younger less experienced officer. The judge has obviously weighed up the pro's and con's of his decision. And believe that he will have lost all respect from any other officers. I don't know if I really wanna get involved in this lol

I assume John is talking about a wiper arm mate. Not the rubber wiper. -
^^ Pretty much what it will most likely come down to. E30 speedos are also notoriously inaccurate.

My account details are in the first post Nathan. I'll get one away asap to you. Cheers
