  1. A good read. Missed this thread when it was first posted. Coming along nicely Jack! Will look forward to seeing it on the 28th
  2. BRO! It was your birthday! I missed the thread on here but fb doesn't hide anything! Happy Birthday, hope you had a great day.
  3. Jizz'd in my pants. Want 17's for 36. omg. Need cash monies!
  4. E36 headlights take H1 bulbs. 12V 55W.
  5. Yours are reflector type mate. Very dangerous to other road users to put HID's in. It is illegal to put a HID kit in any standard Halogen housing full stop (reflector or projector). The only way you can legally do it is to find a wrecked E36 with HID's from factory and retrofit the whole system into your car. Or purchase complete aftermarket HID housings from the likes of Umnitza.
  6. I've seen a touring in NZ with factory HID's. Had different light housings and had headlight washers. You're correct there Yuen. HID's into Reflector housings are absolutely no doubt dangerous, I'm completely on board with that. Thats because the HID beam isn't focused at all and is reflected everywhere. With a projector housing the beam is focused somewhat through the projector. Installing HID's into reflector housings also defeat the purpose of higher light output as all the light is spread everywhere and not focused.
  7. I honestly don't know how so many people have a problem with HID's. I haven't had any problem with being blinded by retrofit HID's. I can't recall once where I've actually been blinded or even just thought about them. The only cases I can recall of being blinded are by factory HID's. Was being followed by an E46 M3 and I couldn't look in the rear view mirror as it was so bad. Other cases are mainly 4wd's. I sit low in the car aswell. Weird.
  8. I bought them to lower it. Insurance said no. Can't be f**kd with the hassle of changing insurance companies at the moment and can't really afford it. When I have a proper job with money coming in I'll get round to lowering it. Just silly having these sitting round doing nothing (in my wardrobe since Feb) when they could be in another 36 rollin' round NZ. Pretty disappointed but oh well.
  9. I asked Jase the same question when I was originally purchasing them. I had also been in the car with these installed. I don't believe these were that much harder than the usual replacement 'sport' spring and afaik the term 'race' is just the differentiation between the different drops.
  10. You've all seen what they look like in Jase's old E36. I purchased them as I believe they give the best drop (without the use of coilovers). They will drop the front of the car 2 inches (50mm) and the rear of the car 1.3 inches (33mm). http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=307970580 Won't go any lower in my price. Haven't used them, they're awesome springs, want to get back what I've put into them. I do however prefer to sell them outside of trade me to avoid the success fee. Will do them for $290 for bimmersporters. I fully believe I will regret selling them lol Cheers
  11. Car looks awesome Simon. My favourite 34 on the forum no question.
  12. HID's were an option for E36's. A VERY rare one here in NZ. Have only seen one touring here with them.
  13. Prices are next to the ratios aren't they Peter?
  14. The mafia have already heard bout this but my insurance provider Vero refused to cover me if I lowered the car. Only have 3rd party but its all under my name. 17, couple weeks off 18. Driving for over 3 years, no accidents etc. Wanted to put some H&R springs in. Only lowered the car about 40mm and they said they wouldn't cover me. The second time a rang them semi-complaining (as I rang around and every other insurance company and all would insure me, bar AMI, for a very competitive premium) and they put a condition on that they'd increase my excess to $4500! I asked if they were joking as thats half the value of the car! They wouldn't admit that its because of my age when I questioned them, there excuse was that its more likely to be stolen sitting an inch lower to the ground!
  15. I might come down and watch me thinks. Day after my birthday so will probably be hungover but oh well lol
  16. I'll be in for a pair or two no doubt.
  17. Just take it to VTNZ, drive through, takes 10 minutes and you're done. No point going to a cheap place, most likely to be backyard garage. Got a $20 (special at the time deal) WOF from Team McMillan and they ****ed me around for over an hour and then tried to charge me for whole control arms when I only needed a couple of $40 bushes. TM: $400 each arm, Glenn: $100 total. They usually want to get something out of it. MY EXPERIENCE.
  18. Seems that would be the Hotwire from this forum. Great mod, looking forward to see the outcome.
  19. Have emailed Home Depot and a few other places in the states and like any big chain they gave crap customer service and just plain said you need a US shipping address to buy.
  20. Before starting to watch it for some reason I thought they were skating the Kaimais!! The for the first 30 seconds I was trying to figure out where they were on the Kaimais. But then I clicked lol. F**k doing that. Bear feet is just plain stupid.
