Good comment crazyarab. The e36 is a good all around car. I was very fortunate to come across a 323 manual, probably the best cross between fuel efficiency and definitely enough hp for a bit of fun. Make sure you get one with some history behind it. Then you will have an idea what has been done. As crzarb said, beware with auto jap imports. They have a problem called the Jatco jerk, which is in most cases a jerk between 1st and 2nd. Most noticeably when cold, but seem to ease away as the car warms up. I have seen receipts for 3k+ to fix this issue. The hoodlining is a common issue aswell. Not really costly to fix just an inconvenience. All e36's were called back to BMW to replace the lower steering joint (or something like that) because of corrosion over time. Check over any e36 for rust bubbles. When I first looked at a few, all NZ new, a couple had rust bubbles on the a pillar and the roof. Although not a big problem like those e30's! The most common mod and probably the most cost effective to do to the 323 is to fit a 328 exhaust system. This apparently gives another 10hp? Which puts it up there near the 325s/328s. Good luck with your search for a nice example. The price range you're looking at definitely won't get a minta but could get a nice little project which can be improved. I would suggest with cars around that price, get an inspection done before you purchase. I don't know if Glenn @ Botanymotorworks does Pre-purchase inspections, but its a worth while investment.

Didn't you say the dealer was going to pay? Just get a new one from BMW.

Haha, great! -
Yea, LTW's look mint. Of course I'm biased though. I prefer the polished LTW's though and would upgrade if I got the chance. Agree with Tom on the other aspects. Europlates make european cars look how they are actually meant to look. Lowering it will also make a huge difference.

Cheers mate. Might have to try it on Internet Explorer

Theres one on trade me atm. But you've probably got our eye on that. Genuine BMW NZ issue, then you would only need the electrical module. PM Jochen or Hotwire.

German plates no longer make them. Here are a couple links to people who still do though. Number 1 Number 2 Hope these are some help.

Less turns lock to lock. Turning ratio in the e30 is 4:1 in the e36 its 3.5:1 in the '95 M3 it's 3.25:1.

Putting the Kms its traveled might spark more interest.

You get what you pay for. ALL the e36's i've seen below 8k need work. If you want a minter you pay a higher price. Mackt: Good luck with the sale, it looks like a minter from the pictures you've posted. Love that interior!

I don't think there would be any laws for exporting. Only the laws in the country your importing it into. Just a thought.

This has been annoying me for the last 4 months. Only happens in the left hand side headlight, luckily its not in both. But opened up the back, got a hairdryer and completely dried it so you couldn't see anymore condensation, but it came back the next day! AHH. Also happens with the left hand side front indicator.

This thread is a year old!

Allison Stokke definitely.

Every time I look at a Nissan people mover with them on I nearly throw up! They IMO are the most hideous wheel ever made. Edit: Censoring
