$4200 for a new set at BMW
-
This is the full airbox (not the upgrade kit airbox with the cone filter) - the volume of this airbox is much larger than the standard Cooper S R56 airbox and gives noticeable gain over the standard Cooper S when used (better blow off valve noise also). As seen in the photo below on the right hand side (left hand side standard Cooper S airbox) $150 (these are over $300 to buy brand new)
-
Near new R56 Cooper S side scuttle (no signal light) - Chrome $80
-
Foam Air Filter from Alta performance - used but in very good condition - $30 Fit standard Cooper S and factory JCW airbox (not the cone filter type JCW airbox)
-
From 2007 Mini Cooper S - basically brand new as the car had the JCW bodykit installed when new. Includes front bumper, bumper grill, rear bumper and side skirts. $500 for full set - fully painted (no fog lights) Colour Dark Silver - I believe the colour code was 871 Sample photo
-
Silver Chequered flag style - (passenger hidden compartment type) (Items 1 and 2 below) - perfect brand new condition $50
-
Came off E92 M3 - factory Chrome grills ... nearly brand new Apparently fit all E92 coupes, E93 convertible and E90 M3 sedans $80 full set.
-
Spare set ... In very good condition - no actual curbing at all, but does have some tyre mounting marks (stupid careless tyre shop) - hardly noticeable really unless you look for it (I've taken really close up photos of the mounting marks on the rims, but honestly you don't really see them unless you are up close to the wheels and look for them. These have never been repainted. SOLD - still have tyres on, so I won't take the tyres off until I am certain they are sold. Car is rarely used. Wheels only no tyres or centre caps!! You can't officially order these unless you have a CSL of course. Fronts: (19 x 8.5 et 44) Rears: (19 x 9.5 ET 27)

Ooops ... Yep .. Pirelli RFT are the best there is ... period. I agree that RFT just aren't as good as standard high performance tyres - but hell they are a heck of a lot better now than when they first came out, the preformance is almost as good I would say (both wet and dry). Give the Pirelli P Zero RFT a try - you'll be amazed!! I have them on the Mini JCW and my brothers had the Continentals on his 3 series and he thought they were good until he put a set of Pirelli P Zero RTFs on - it was like buying a new car. Not tooting Pirelli's trumpets either ... as I think they are ruining F1 at the moment with their bread crumb tyres.

I want your luck Julian!!! Can I borrow it? Haha I do indeed!!! Audi must be doing it right, because we too have an "RS" in the garage!!! I bet I've spent more at the Parts department than you Josh!! : P Hell I've even got my own account and dedicated email inbox at the parts department : P

It don't get cheesier than this I think .... good lord!!
-
Bridgestone run flats are rubbish .... they are also very noisy for some reason.
-
No longer rings true ... I have a Mini Countryman and the wife with a Mini JCW both on run flats. I also have 2 brothers that use runflats on their 3 series for more than 5 years now. Run flats are in its 3rd generation now and I can honestly say that these latest generation of runflats are as good if indiscernible from standard road tyres in both ride quality, noise, grip and overall performance. (the first generation run flats were rubbish I agree ..) Some makes are a little noisier than others (I've run Dunlop RFT, Bridgeston RFT and Pirelli RFT) - I can tell you for a fact that the Pirelli is years ahead in the RFT technology and is by far the best RFT I've ever used on any car. Run flats can be repaired just like a normal road tyre (I know because I've had two different brands repaired for punctures (Dunlop and Pirelli) - the rules for repair are exactly the same as standard road tyres. I have also experienced the unfortunate situation of getting a puncture and having the tyre go completely flat and the wife not knowing it and kept driving on it for far too long, thus destroying the inner support sidewall resulting in a non repairable tyre. The tyres are designed to stop a blow out or a delamination from sudden deflation - it will allow you to drive for up to 100km with no air ... but after that, no one knows. I personally think they are a great introduction to new cars and personally don't find them anymore expensive than high performance tyres (and I've replaced 3 sets already). They are however a bit rubbish on the race track ..

Just to add also .... still not a whisper from anyone from BMW at all about this. I am honestly not asking to be invited to every single event (heck who has the time to attend them all!!) - but nothing at all during my 13 years ownership experience is pretty poor in my opinion no matter which way you spin the story or pass the buck. It's also not like BMW NZ doesn't know about this - I do have fb friend who are closely linked with the head office, dealerships ect - I also know that they do sometimes browse these forums (not often, but they have done so in the past). I am most likely not doing myself any favours posting this on such a public arena - but my intentions are clear BMW NZ needs to know about this first hand - from a customer, how else could they improve? I do want to know what BMW Germany might think about this - given the 10th anniversary of the CSL and a big attendance from BMW AG who are hosting the events, I might just relay this experience to those attending from the UK and get them to send it to BMW AG and see what they think and whether this is the sort of experience they'd like their customers to have. p.s. just to be clear, I am refering to new product launches - especially M related ones where there are track driving and product comparison - not talking about driver training - I get those through the email because Mike knows me quite well, but nothing at all during the 13 year tenure on new M products.

With all due respect Jon, but I feel that's pretty typical of 'passing the buck' attitude I get from the whole BMW network (dealer and wholesale level). If BMW NZ can deal directly with warranty issues on a national level with new products sold, I see no reason why it can't also do the same with these "invite" events? Surely it is in its vested interest to see that these events are run properly and efficiently and cater to those customers that matter (I am making a big presumption here obviously to think that I matter - I probably don't in the grand scheme of things and basically from what you are telling me). I get that sometimes these events are done to entice new business from those who aren't already buying - but honestly 13 years and not one invite. And obviously the letter to head office made no difference whatsoever to the dealership network. If what you say is true, then I guess my gutt feeling was correct afterall - BMW doesn't want my business - I don't matter. Perfectly fine with me. Just as a comparison ... and to illustrate my point that I was not bluffing about Porsche calling me, this was the weekend just gone by and the invitation I got to see the launch for this (wasn't in the market for one, but nevertheless, Porsche were happy to introduce me to the brand): Even offered me a drive of this if I fancied: Then gave me these to take away just because ... I also find what you say to be a little strange Jon. Because what BMW NZ does here seems vastly different to what BMW US, BMW UK and basically the rest of BMW around the world would normally do. I've seen and heard first hand accounts of complaints that really have nothing much to do with BMW UK directly (caused by secondary contracted party on repairing E46 rear floors) and the complaints went to BMW UK directly - BMW UK never hesitated to sort the problems out for the customer. Because customer experiences matter to them - wholesale or not, it reflects on the brand, it reflects on the synergy with customers. Perhaps time BMW NZ reflect on how these events are run and how they should go about running them - because I am telling you as a customer - 13years is way too long for that invite. Rant over.

I spent a lot of time and hassle importing these. This set was part of the CSL Cup specification when it ran in the UK for 2 years. The kit consists of 4 front shocks and 2 rear shocks and 2 spring sets - Camber plates front and rear solid top mounts (solid rear bottom shock mount also). Brand new front race adjustable swaybar links from Turners Motorsport (these are way better than the KW item) 2 of the front shocks are brand new and never used (they were spares I bought), and the other 2 fronts and both rears were sent back to KW Germany for a full rebuilt (I have all receipt to prove this) - everything that needed replacing was replaced by KW - no expense spared. With the race stuff, each shock is catelogued at KW - so there's a special identification number for each shock - each shock is dyno tested to confirm that it is within the specification tolerance and all this is kept on file at KW (you can email them to get your own shock dyno if you want it - I have the brand new front shocks on file with me). These shocks are valved to work with 22kg/mm springs front and rear with slick tyres. I have 2 spring sets - one 22kg/mm and one 14kg/mm - the latter will work with semi slicks. Bump and rebound individually adjustable. The rear shocks can be turned into full coilover setup if you send them back to KW - but they are not in current state (which in my opinion is better if you don't run a roll cage with rear mount pick up). Reason for selling: I don't actually track the car any longer and haven't done so for over a year now and am not anticipating to do so at all this year - Since rebuilt I've actually only used them twice on the track (once at Hampton and once at Pukekohe) - they are just like new - these have sat in the box for a while now as I took them out just over a year ago and put the stock item back in the car. These are probably better served for someone who's actually going to race their car. I do not recommend these for road use - they are very harsh and are designed for competition use only. To summarise: 4 front shocks (2 new, 2 with 2 track days fully rebuilt by KW Germany with receipts) 2 rear shocks (2 track days fully rebuilt by KW Germany with receipts) 2 front camber plates (extra holes drilled by KW Germany for -4+ degree camber - I believe you can run up to -6 on the redrilled holes) 2 brand new front camber plate bearings (spares I got) 1 spare front bump stop 2 sets of springs (one set of front keepers - spec'd 1kg/mm) 22kg/mm and 14kg/mm Rear spring height adjusters with keepers - spec'd 1kg/mm) KW Adjuster knobs front and rear Might have some KW stickers somewhere also .. LOL EOI at the moment - PM what you are willing to pay - don't be silly and offer stupid money, these are NOT your standard off the shelve items. p.s. When KW rebuild race items they replace everything except the mainshaft and housing (unless damaged) - so all the bearings, seals and oil are all new. p.s.s - Being race items the shock body is very short - resulting in a fairly low ride height (from memory the starting ride height is 13.5inches front and 13 inches rear). The swaybar pick up on the front is also moved, so on standard E46 M3s you'll need higher offset wheels (minimum stock front CSL wheels to work with the re-positioned sway bar link) - these will NOT work with standard 18 or 19inch M3 wheels without front spacers, but will have just enough clearance through out the full suspension stroke on standard CSL front wheels. I agree with what you say ... but you know what, guess who called me since this post went up because they spotted it .... And it's not BMW or any of the dealerships - it was Porsche. I think when it comes to premium brands, you either want to retain customers or you don't - the overall general feeling I get is BMW really don't give a damn. Haha sorry Julian - buy you a coffee when I am in Ponsonby next time : ) I doubt it - and even if they do read it, which they should have already (but still haven't) they are still too late compared to the competition (as above).

It's not like BMW NZ doesn't know about it (I did write that letter to the then Managing Director) - I think they simply just don't care - and they wonder why loyal customers are leaving. Not sure what the sales people or managers do at the dealership - I have a wonderful relationship with the parts and service department and get looked after astonishing well there, have never received a call from the sales team about any of the recent M products. I am going to air my disappointment with BMW Germany and see what they say ... overall it's been a bitter disappointing 13 years to be ignored like this. Lucky for you - maybe I am just with the wrong dealership - although it's not like the Jerry Clayton's sales don't know about me either - I've not personally purchased from them, but my brother is a customer of theirs and he's never had an invite either. The thing is I have aired my disappointment about this to them and even to the MD of BMW NZ directly - nothing has changed. It's not like they don't actually know who I am - they just like to conveniently ignore me. Oh well - their loss. Julian - sorry about plastering your wonderful thread with my rants!!! I'll refrain from posting more about it if you tell me to!! But as you can tell I am a little bitter over this (as explained via PM) - kinda of annoying when you also see your facebook friends posting photos about these experience days and they don't even own a BMW.
-
I've waited 13 years for an invite and to be honest I am not holding my breath. I might not be the biggest individual customer for bmw but I think I've given them my fair share of loyalty to them. It's not like I've never aired my displeasure to them directly. The event in 2007 resulted in a letter to Mark Gilbert - instead of an invite to maybe test drive the new m3 at a dealership I was given a magazine with an article about one in it - talk about adding insult to injury. During this 13 years I've owned new 2001 e46 m3, new 2003 e46 m3, 2003 e46 m3 csl (still own), new 2008 e92 m3, new 2007 mini jcw (the most extensively spec'd in NZ), 2012 new Mini Countryman. The last two mini I still own. I know people that have less or nothing to do with bmws that have been invited to these events on multiple occasions - it beggers belief really. I think I will be airing my displeasure to BMW Germany directly (not that it'll do anything I am sure). For a premium brand they are, in my opinion, seriously lacking in the customer retention department. Any how just want to share. I am done with the brand.

That's perhaps the best description I've ever read! Thanks Julian!!!
-
No that's just a photo off the internet ... They should be reasonably cheap, just thought I'll see if there are any in the country before I get one sent over from the UK : ) Mine has a minor blemish in the grill ... I am finally giving into my OCD and have decided to just replace it haha.
-
That's one way they do those days - the dealerships also provide a list to BMW NZ who then pay for the day to potential leads and existing customers. I was royally pissed in 2007 when they launched the E92 M3 and sent everyone down to Taupo for 2 days (being an owner of the CSL back then and having owned two prior E46 M3s since 2000) I was left off the list for no apparent reason - it actually annoyed me enough for me to send in a complaint letter (as every other E46 M3 owners I know back then plus a friend of mine that owned no previous BMWs and was never in the market for one were invited) - BMW NZ sent me a BMW Magazine as a token of apology ... I threw it in the bin ... haha ... I do find it rather surprising actually .... 13 freaking years as an owner and never once invited ... maybe I'll ditch the brand soon - Porsche seems to want my business way more than BMW!! But looked like an epic day ... the M5 would have been fun, vomit or not haha!! How does the M135 compare to the M5?? - have seen the car in person but not test driven one - looks like quite an epic car!! Better than the 1M I am told.

Looking for a door handle with the tweeter grill - MUST BE MINT with absolutely no blemishes. Non HK version. Exactly as pictured below:

Jealous!!! Considering the amount of money I've spent with BMW NZ I have NEVER EVER been invited to such a day - very strange - ironically I've never purchased a Porsche and have had invites twice now - two years in a row - but both times it clashed with work commitments!!! Buggar!!
