Great to see you're back on the road Alan, nice work!  Mine's still languishing in nice dry storage... hopefully this year...

a long term project pal, the tile of this thread is 'the latest daily E30' implying i'd be a relatively quick project - started the thread 9 years ago FFS :) , had the radiator and fan replaced last week, surely everything has been done now, its like painting the forth bridge, as soon as its all done, it'll be time to start again .. never ends.. good job I love it

  2. Doing great BMThug thanks pal , hope you're the same , gonna have to get in touch at some point to have a word with your paint guy i reckon, in no immediate rush but the Aircon and Paint are , like I say, pretty much all thats left to do now pal, and they're both in your domain :) - she's running so well since you had her in a few months ago

  3. Time for an update, took her in to Apex on the shore and SJ there changed the springs all round and did some engine work, it really is the perfect height now - it was far too low for a chap approaching 60 - purrs like a kitten now (added a cat pic accordingly :) )- some seals were letting air in (im no mechanic) so it was very lumpy at idle, not any more . A new IS lip, new number plates as the old ones were bent and rusty a new OEM gear stick gator from BMW (had it with the ill fitting eBay ones) and a new gear knob to tidy the whole thing up inside - still mulling over paintwork as its a little rough close up in places and air con needs sorting still ..

Looks great - and amazing shipping price!

    Did you paint yourself?

Thanks, must have been a mistake on shipping i reckon, no customs charges either which I was expecting, yea painted myself, its not hard, just have to slightly rough up clean and degrease , 3 coats of paint, 2 clear and have patience to let it all dry before handling

  5. been a while but time for an update. The E30 is a garage queen now, weekend and sunshine car nowadays mainly due to a work relocation and also the rising value of the old girl, been after these for a while and eventually got round to getting some OEM iS skirts for her from CATuned in California (8 days door to door for $36USD shipping), some fitting and after pics, used the official clips for anchoring the underside but didn't use the factory grommet method as really didn't want to drill holes so got a recommendation to use windscreen adhesive which has worked fantastically - really pleased with how she looks

  6. few and far between nowadays, probably irrelevant but you ought to state coupe or sedan, I got mine from a wrecker convertible a few years ago rough as guts for $170 , got them fully reupholstered so final bill was around $2k. I am aware of a full coupe interior from I believe an Mtech1 that was available a short time ago, if its coupe you are after I can enquire if the interior is still available

Nice Spitty, looks like an early Mk3 with a hard top as well, very nice.
I had a white late Mk3, sold it when we moved to NZ, had been the garage for many years and never got the love it deserved.

it was 1967 I seem to recall - UK number plate was YWJ90G - 1300cc and went like a rocket albeit a noisy one :) - yep hard top, I used to keep it in my bedroom during the summer (the top not the car :) )

  8. Thanks guys, I picked these up last weekend from the same guy listed above, seems he knows wreckers and sells on Recaros that come up, doesn’t ask the earth for them either, got these for $500 no rips or bolster wear
