  1. Yeah I can read that and interpret it as saying both 2ohm stable bridged and not... Confusing!

I found this at crutchfield - AMP

That states it is 2ohm stable bridged. The thing I find odd about that is it quotes less power for 2ohm output than for 4ohm... Isn't it usually the other way around (see below for quote)?

    300 watts RMS x 2 bridged at 4 ohms (250 watts RMS x 2 bridged at 2 ohms)

Short story though appears to be that the amp will power your sub.

  2. Ok, I went and had a look at this car today.

It is very clean, straight and tidy, everything seems to work as it should. But there are just a couple of odd things. "the left inner front guard has been replaced". Really? that is why the paint code sticker says it is Diamantschwarz, whereas the car is Lachsilber (or more likely dolphin grey). Gear knob need replaced, no big deal. Aftermarket drivers seat. The other front and rear seats are in Ok condition, stitching coming apart in one or two places. But, the door trims are different to the seat trim, and the rear side interior panels are different again. There are a few little nicks and scratches, nothing too serious. It is Japan spec, so standard gearbox, not dog-leg. I am tempted, but...

  3. Mint, thanks for the info mate!

I've just read somewhere that using the headunit speaker outs as inputs for the amplifier will give a lower quality sound/more interference. I'm presuming that's total bullshit or of concern only for audiophiles? Otherwise why would amp manufacturers even give the option right?

RCA's have some shielding built into the cable - means less noise can be introduced. As you'll probably be mounting the amp in the boot I'd personally look at getting a new headunit with 2 sets of RCA's - front and rear\sub. Something like this - Headunit

That'll will mean more tuning options (fade, balance and maybe even some sub crossover) and make wiring easier - 2 rca cables instead of 4 speaker wires and extra adapters.

Then either Neal's speakers or the pioneers you mentioned in the first post, that pioneer amp and a sub. Wiring kit and you're done... No need for any capacitors.
